D.J.
Dietz Designs of Reedsburg is a family-run business. Dave and Dan
oversee the day-to-day departmental operations, while Mom and Dad
concentrate on office management. The brother’s inspiration
and interest in woodworking goes back many generations. Their great-great-grandfather
was one of the first licensed Architects in the state of Wisconsin.
Their great-grandfather was a custom homebuilder in the Milwaukee
area. As boys, Dave and Dan often worked with their father in his
home woodshop.

Dave
& Theresa Dietz- Owner
Dave
heads up the furniture restoration division and brings to the
cabinetry end of the business an understanding of wood, joinery
and fine finishes. He also occasionally installs cabinetry and
is intimately knowledgeable with the features that make a good
kitchen a great kitchen. Dave, Theresa and children Matthew and
Melissa live in a very old Victorian home, totally remodeled with
the help of the entire family. As you may imagine the heart of
their home is their beautiful oak kitchen, which Dave designed,
and he also serves as a pretty good chef.

Dan
Dietz - The Brother and CKD
Dan
has the distinction of being one of the few NKBA’s Certified
Kitchen Designers in the area. Dan has been involved in the housing
industry for many years. At the age of 23, he designed and built
his own home, with the help of the entire family, from basement
to the high roof peaks. The large island kitchen overlooking the
city of Reedsburg, was built in Dad’s workshop and transported
to the new home site. It was an early catalyst presaging the evolution
of the new business. This knowledge of houses, both inside and out,
lends a rare first hand holistic approach to D. J. Dietz kitchen
and bath design. |

has an opinion and an insightful perspective. He and Wessie are always
helping wherever they can. When not at the business, they are at home
loving their ongoing farmhouse remodeling project, and looking for
the next challenge it can bring! |

Wessie
Dietz - Office Manager aka "Mom"
In
the “caring” business her whole life, Wessie is the person
in the office that does everything and helps everyone, always there
for the business and for the customer. She’s also the best apple
pie maker ever, as you will find out after we install your new kitchen
- the kitchen is her home. |

Mike
Marquardt - Restoration Specialist
Mike,
a part of D.J. Dietz since 1999, lovingly works on furniture pieces
brought to us, carefully recreating lost or badly damaged parts .
The types and severity of repairs are many, and Mike has answers to
most. Broken legs, snapped dowels, missing veneer, neglect and abuse,
and the ravages of time are just some of the challenges Mike has coming
across his workbench. Mike and Dave work together to apply beautiful
fresh finishes to newly stripped and repaired pieces. |
